Quick answers
I have a black and white garment. What can I do?
Treat it as a colour-risk item. Check the label, test discreetly where appropriate, avoid aggressive chemistry or heat, document the risk and warn the customer that dye movement or greying may occur.
I have a wool coat with stains. What can I do?
Identify the stain first, avoid water and rubbing unless proven safe, record age and location of stains, inspect trims and lining, then choose a controlled dry cleaning or specialist process.
I have suede shoes. What can I do?
Do not wet clean aggressively. Brush, test, use suede-safe cleaning methods, control drying and warn that colour change, nap change or old staining may remain.
I have a garment with no care label. What can I do?
Classify by fibre, construction, trims and colour risk. Record that the label is missing. Get customer acknowledgement before processing and use the safest conservative method.
I have a mixed-colour dress. What can I do?
Separate it from normal loads, check for dye bleed risk, test if safe, avoid heat and harsh chemistry, and record that contrast colours may migrate.
What would the Industry Core Intelligence system do?
It would classify the item, identify fabric and construction risk, check care-label logic, recommend a safe pathway, create staff actions, record documentation requirements and explain the customer risk in plain Australian English.
