Black, white and mixed-colour articles
Contrast garments require immediate colour-risk thinking.
Black and white garments, contrast trims, red/white combinations, dark linings, printed panels and mixed-colour fashion pieces need special care before cleaning.
Risks include dye bleed, greying, optical brightener change, colour migration, print cracking, adhesive failure and customer-visible contrast loss.
The front counter should record colour-risk warnings before acceptance. Production should test discreetly where appropriate and avoid unnecessary heat or aggressive chemistry.
- Separate contrast garments from normal loads
- Check dark trims against light fabric
- Use conservative chemistry where risk exists
- Do not promise perfect whitening or no colour movement
- Record customer acknowledgement for high-risk pieces
