Cotton, linen and plant fibres

High absorbency, crease behaviour and wet-cleaning considerations.

Cotton is absorbent, generally washable and common in shirts, casual wear, linen service and household textiles. It can shrink, fade, crease and hold soil.

Linen and flax are strong plant fibres with high absorbency and a crisp feel. They crease easily and may shrink or distort when incorrectly washed, dried or pressed.

Plant fibres often tolerate water better than many animal fibres, but dyes, trims, finishes and garment construction can create risk.
